Y Pellets' MD To Be Global Keynote Speaker At World Biomass Event

Neil Holland, managing director of Y Pellets, is to address top delegates from the world’s leading biomass industries at the International Biomass Congress & Expo in Berlin (10-11 Oct 2018).

A successful business figure in the UK and Europe’s wood pellet industry, he is one of a select few, global keynote speakers at the high-profile event which brings together leading producers, suppliers, regulators and industry-related organisations.

With more than a decade’s experience in the energy sector, Neil is part of a management team overseeing the construction of two, new state-of-the-art wood pellet plants in Austria. His team is also currently directing the development of a new, advanced manufacturing, £10m wood refinery in Goole, East Yorkshire. Construction is due to start imminently at the 5.9 acre site and will expand the Y Pellets brand throughout the UK and Europe, revolutionising supply and the quality of biomass wood pellets for private and commercial customers.

Neil commented, “The conference is well recognised internationally and will address issues facing a rapidly-changing and ever-developing biomass sector, not just here in the UK and Europe, but worldwide. Whilst opportunities for growth definitely exist, there are also many challenges ahead, so I’m delighted to lead a discussion as part of the event and represent the UK’s growing wood pellet industry.

“Our ethos has always been to deliver the very best wood pellet product available as well as offer the correct technical advice and a superior level of customer support. This, along with continuous investment and a personal, ‘going the extra mile’ approach, has set Y Pellets apart in a competitive marketplace. Therefore, to showcase the company and our vision globally is fantastic.”

Y Pellets is part of a larger European organisation which currently transports sustainably-sourced wood pellets direct to its dedicated 5,000 tonne storage facility at the Port of Goole. The new plant, which is the first of its kind in the UK and only the second of its kind to be built in the world due to new technologies and patented processes, will boost the region’s economy with pellet production expected in Summer 2019.

The refinery is possibly one of the largest, private sector, renewable energy investment projects in the UK currently. It will benefit the local community, its businesses, supply chain networks and the wider, regional and Northern Powerhouse economies.
